Validate certificate wireless validating identity

If a self-signed certificate (or any certificate from an untrusted CA) is in use, most clients will reject the connection since they cannot validate the server's identity.

For troubleshooting purposes, server certificate validation can be disabled on one or multiple clients, allowing those clients to connect regardless of the certificate in use.

IU Secure authentication servers use USERTrust as their root certificate authority.

Click Manually connects to a wireless network, then click next. Under Information for the wireless network you want to add a) Enter miis into the Network name field.

Uncheck Varify the server’s identity by validating the certificate, then click the Configure button. Make sure the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) checkbox is unchecked.

b) Select WPA2-‐Enterprise in the Security type dropdown menu.

802.1X requires the use of an authentication server, which is usually referred to as a Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) server.
